Project Statement

At the tender age of not-quite-seventen, I entered Architecture school. There - I studied the art of spatial relations… of making order from chaos… of coloring within perfectly and precisely drawn straight lines.

I excelled and exceeded everyone’s expectations - including my own.

Recovery - I’ve heard said - happens in incremental steps... and over the course of a lifetime. It’s an ever-evolving process of letting go and changing one’s mind. It happens slowly and sometimes unknowingly - in the unseen moments... in the quiet seasons... in all those spaces in that in between.

In time — my professional training and architectural practice constrained and confined. I slowly shed those straight lines. They no longer defined.

This project is an exercise in my search for softness in curves... in the lines and shapes and forms without beginnings or ends.

Sometime... somewhere - I outgrew all that... and into something like this.
